A lot of people love the idea of starting newsletters.
But let’s be real: if you don’t understand their purpose, you’re basically sending emails into the void.
Here’s the deal: every move in your business should help increase revenue.
“Oh, but not everything is about money!” they say.
Listen, pal: the money you make is a direct reflection of how much value you’re creating and how many people you’re helping.
Impact = Income
And let’s face it, if you’re not compensated, it’s not sustainable. The end.
Now, about those newsletters.
Yes, I have one. Yes, you should consider starting one.
But ONLY if you understand what a newsletter is supposed to do.
A newsletter should do 3 basic things:
1. Trust — Show them you know your stuff. Solve their problems. Be the answer to their late-night Google searches.
2. Top-of-mind awareness — Email them weekly so when they think “I need help,” your name pops up like a Whac-A-Mole in their brain.
3. Clarity on what’s next — Aka, don’t just educate them. Point them to the path.
And here’s where the magic happens: a simple, no-pressure super signature.
Mine goes like this:

Ah yes, you can check it out for yourself at the bottom.
But it’s subtle, helpful, and always moving the audience closer to becoming a client.
“But how do I grow my email list?”
Lead magnets. A juicy, irresistible freebie that gives them value in exchange for their email.
Once they sign up, email them their lead magnet and let them know they’ll be hearing from you weekly for more tips and tricks.
From there, you can get fancy with thank-you pages and automated sequences.
But at the core? Build trust. Stay top of mind. Clarify the next steps.
If your newsletter isn’t nudging them further into your sales funnel, it’s just noise.
