Lead gen’s been on my mind a lot lately…
Why? Because I’ve been busy helping founders tighten up their ops, and the second things start running smoothly, guess what? They get hungry for leads.
Once your machine’s running like a dream, it’s time to feed it some traffic.
That’s why I recently shared 4 lead gen strategies you can put to work right away:
(assuming leads is the biggest bottleneck)
1. Content that hooks ‘em
2. Warm outreach that warms ‘em up
3. Cold outreach that wakes ‘em up
4. Paid traffic that brings ‘em in (my fave)
Today, we’re diving deep into number 4 – the one I’ve been recently obsessed with.
It’s the toughest nut to crack and the priciest if you’re not careful, but when you nail it, it’s like turning on a faucet of leads.
Did I mention it’s my favorite? Especially when you’ve got a funnel that works around the clock, churning out leads for just a couple bucks a pop…
The magic ingredient here is simple.
Offer something FREE and valuable.
No more asking them to commit to a 30min+ strategy session, jump through hoops like a circus poodle, or whip out their credit card…
Do the reverse. Give them:
- Something totally FREE
- Access to something (really) valuable
- In exchange for just a name and an email
Your ad should:
- Call out your ideal audience (loud and clear)
- Zero in on the problem they’re struggling with
- Introduce the special something that’ll solve it for them
And when they click? Send them to a super simple landing page:
- Clear, compelling headline (the exact thing they clicked for)
- An image of your irresistible freebie
- A quick blurb on how it’ll help them
- A strong call to action (CTA)
Boom! Now you’ve got a name and an email – and you probably only paid a few bucks for it (assuming your targeting’s on point).
What’s next? Talk to them!
If you’re getting a lot of traffic, you can streamline this process:
- Hit ‘em with a thank you page and next steps
- Follow up with a 5-7 email sequence
- Stay top of mind with a weekly newsletter
I’ll break down these steps in detail another time, but by now, you’re holding a hot lead.
And if your systems aren’t perfect yet, don’t stress – especially if you’re new or not getting a ton of traffic.
Go old-school and send a manual (yes, manual) email or DM.
