It’s no secret that in order to succeed, without luck, it’s going to take a lot of work and consistency.
A common theme across successful entrepreneurs is that they were consistent, for a long time.
You need to be able to outlast everyone else. And the only way to do this is by being obsessed, where work doesn’t feel like work, and you don’t want to stop.
This is the reason why it’s nearly impossible to convince someone to star their own business, a workout program, or any other hard endeavour if they’re not obsessed to begin with.
I’ve had too many experiences where I’ve motivated others to launch a particular business, but it failed because they eventually gave up… They were initially excited about my idea, but it wasn’t their own and it wasn’t a sufficient driver.
When you’re excited and obsessed, it’s easier to do things that would be hard for most.
The good news for you is that most people don’t take the first step, and an even smaller number stick around. Competition isn’t a real problem.
The only problem is being clear on YOUR WHY.
Before you attempt any hard endeavour, clarify in detail, why you’re doing it. It cannot be someone else’s WHY or you most likely won’t maintain the consistency needed to achieve success.
You know you’re obsessed and have clarity on your why when you:
- naturally wake up early to work on your goal
- work until 2am and find it hard to stop
- can’t stop thinking about your project or goal
- can easily create content and talk about your topic
- lose track of time
To be clear, being obsessed doesn’t mean you wont’ have low energy days… But it does mean your average energy level will be much higher.
It’s simply too much work and too difficult to maintain the effort needed otherwise.
If you just keep going, and it’s a true passion, success is inevitable.
Here's a question that you can use to help clarify your passion:
If you were wildly successful in the coming years, what do you imagine or see yourself doing?
For me, the answer is helping service-based business founders gain back time and increase profits by automating and delegating their processes.
Before you start:
- Ask yourself the question above
- Clarify the why and vision
- Work it backwards and create the necessary goals
- Take action
