Itâs no secret that in order to succeed, without luck, itâs going to take a lot of work and consistency.
A common theme across successful entrepreneurs is that they were consistent, for a long time.
You need to be able to outlast everyone else. And the only way to do this is by being obsessed, where work doesnât feel like work, and you donât want to stop.
This is the reason why itâs nearly impossible to convince someone to star their own business, a workout program, or any other hard endeavour if theyâre not obsessed to begin with.
Iâve had too many experiences where Iâve motivated others to launch a particular business, but it failed because they eventually gave up⊠They were initially excited about my idea, but it wasnât their own and it wasnât a sufficient driver.
When youâre excited and obsessed, itâs easier to do things that would be hard for most.
The good news for you is that most people donât take the first step, and an even smaller number stick around. Competition isnât a real problem.
The only problem is being clear on YOUR WHY.
Before you attempt any hard endeavour, clarify in detail, why youâre doing it. It cannot be someone elseâs WHY or you most likely wonât maintain the consistency needed to achieve success.
You know youâre obsessed and have clarity on your why when you:
- naturally wake up early to work on your goal
- work until 2am and find it hard to stop
- canât stop thinking about your project or goal
- can easily create content and talk about your topic
- lose track of time
To be clear, being obsessed doesnât mean you wontâ have low energy days⊠But it does mean your average energy level will be much higher.
Itâs simply too much work and too difficult to maintain the effort needed otherwise.
If you just keep going, and itâs a true passion, success is inevitable.
Here's a question that you can use to help clarify your passion:
If you were wildly successful in the coming years, what do you imagine or see yourself doing?
For me, the answer is helping service-based business founders gain back time and increase profits by automating and delegating their processes.
Before you start:
- Ask yourself the question above
- Clarify the why and vision
- Work it backwards and create the necessary goals
- Take action
