I was driving up north and decided to bring one of our Air Quality Canada Inc. air sensors with me in the car...
If you're like me, I never thought twice before turning on the car's air recirculation button... But now I keep this feature's use to a minimum.
I had the air sensor running and what I learned was kind of shocking. What was even more surprising was that I wasn't able to find too much about this online!
Anyway, turns out that when you have this button on, the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) levels rise like crazy, and quickly! They rose nearly by 5X in about 20minutes (3835ppm Vs. 776ppm)...Can't imagine how high they get on a long drive with larger families.
Such high CO2 levels cause fatigue (along with other symptoms), so try to avoid using air recirculation. Safe driving!
