Conversations → Sales calls → Clients
If you don’t yet understand this scaling will feel unpredictable and difficult.
But let’s assume you do and are increasing the number of conversations you or your team are having with prospects.
The next bottleneck is often keeping track of these conversations and making sure we’re pushing them forward (daily).
How do we keep track of conversations with prospects? With a simple tagging system like this:
In Convo 💬
Pain Point 🔥
Wants Help 🔥🔥
Ready to buy 🔥🔥🔥
This gives context on where a prospect is in the pipeline and helps prioritize follow-ups (the money is in the follow-up).
I try to mimic the typical flow of a (none-salesy) conversation. It starts with an introduction (In Convo 💬).
Some people go right to the pitch, but that’s generally not my style.
From there you might ask a few questions to understand if they have a problem that you can help solve (Pain Point 🔥).
Once they’ve openly shared and talked about their problem, now you’re ready to offer them help (Wants Help 🔥🔥).
If you’re doing sales calls, then this is the time you should propose to get on a call. Otherwise they won’t be qualified and may not be ready to invest in a solution, potentially wasting your time.
Once my offer resonates and they’re ready to proceed, I send them a signup link (Ready to buy 🔥🔥🔥).
These tags work incredibly well at helping me quickly prioritize follow ups.
1. Understand where they’re at (In Convo 💬)
2. Identify a problem you can help solve (Pain Point 🔥)
3. Confirm if they want help (Wants Help 🔥🔥)
4. Once they want your offer (Ready to buy 🔥🔥🔥)
If you’re not following up with leads you’re leaving money on the table.
