Founders, let’s talk CRMs.
Most of you want your CRM to do everything…
Like some kind of Swiss Army knife on steroids.
- cold prospects
- warm leads
- clients
- deliverables
Sounds dreamy, right?
Spoiler alert: it’s not.
Why?
Almost no CRM can do it all without turning into a tangled mess of chaos.
Try cramming everything in, and you’ll end up with a sluggish, overcomplicated system, and a migraine.
The Fix?
Split your systems into 3 simple parts:
1. Cold outreach system
For people who don’t know you exist (yet).
2. Warm leads & clients (CRM)
Where the magic of nurturing happens.
3. Client tracker
For deliverables and keeping clients happy.
Try stuffing everything in your CRM and your systems will break.
You’ll drown in useless data. And worst of all, you’ll miss the important stuff.
Instead, use a cold outreach tool to handle the "not-interested-yet" crowd.
When someone shows interest, add them to the CRM - these are the people who actually need (and want) your manual attention.
Your CRM is where you focus on the people who do care - nurturing leads and closing deals.
Then, once they sign on the dotted line or give you their credit card, graduate them to your client tracker.
This makes your CRM a great place to zoom out and get a bird’s eye view of what’s going on.
It’s the most important dashboard…
But it doesn't have to tactically manage every corner of the business.
Don’t let it choke on unnecessary data.
Keep cold outreach contacts out, and move clients to a client tracker.
Because when it comes to scaling, simple wins. Every. Single. Time.
