Are you ready for one of the easiest, fastest, and least-used ways to increase revenue…
Ok, I’ll get right to it.
By raising the prices of your legacy clients.
But before you roll your eyes and think “easier said than done”,
hear me out…
Because I got an easy 5-step process for you that I’ve seen work, time and time again.
Let me start by making the assumption that you are in fact, undercharging.
You give your clients your brain, your weekends, your extra brain cells, and charge like you’re still in your first year of business.
“Ok, yeah, that sounds like me. But how do I actually do it…?”
Here’s the trick most people miss:
It’s not what you say. It’s how you say it.
And here’s exactly how - if you follow this process, you’ll raise prices:
1. Start by celebrating their wins
“Since we started working together, you’ve [insert big, juicy result]. Watching your growth has been epic.”
2. Reference internal improvements you’ve made for them
“We’ve added [new tools, team, systems] to help you hit your goals”
3. Hint at what’s next
“And we’ve got more [exciting changes] that’ll make progress even faster.”
4. Clarify that prices have already increased since starting to work together
“While new clients are already paying our updated rate, I’ve kept your current price the same for as long as possible.”
5. Then bring it home.
“To maintain the level of service you’ve come to expect (and deserve), your rate will be adjusted slightly. But not yet - starting in a couple months”
Then… the magic line…
“But you’ll still be paying less than new clients”, but this small increase helps me continue giving you the time, focus, and results you’ve come to expect.”
Boom.
You start by hitting them with wins and making them feel good about your work.
And end with the fact that they’re still going to benefit from a special rate.
The big picture…
When you make your price increase about their benefit, better service, faster results, more support, you get:
→ Less resistance
→ More money
→ More bandwidth to do your best work
And the best part?
Your clients will respect you more for it.
Because people trust pros who value their time and results.
“But what if some people decide to leave?”
Most won’t. And the ones that do, they’re not your perfect client anyway, and the increase in revenue will make up for the loss.
